Plants: what the camera looks for

Watering, misting, repotting. The check asks whether you are tending real plants.

What the camera looks for

When your plants spot-check fires, the in-app prompt reads "Show us the plants". The vision model then judges whether your three-photo burst shows the activity. In general it looks for:

  • One or more living plants clearly in frame.
  • You in the shot, or your hands interacting with them, for example holding a watering can or touching leaves or soil.
  • Enough light to tell plant from background.

Tips for a clean check

  • Stand close enough that the plants fill a good part of the frame.
  • Include the watering can, mister or your hands. Context helps the check.
  • In dim rooms, turn a light on before the burst. A dark silhouette is hard to read.
  • Keep the plants steady; the three frames are a fraction of a second apart.

If a check fails

A plant sitting alone on a shelf with nobody tending it is the sort of frame that can read as not doing the activity. If you get a no, use the re-capture and show your hands at work. Streako always offers one re-capture before a check fails, and verification is tuned to give you the benefit of the doubt.

Honest status

This is a listed activity, and listed activities ship only if they pass our benchmark on real photo bursts, including bad light and awkward angles. Any activity with too many wrongly rejected checks is cut. Accuracy figures will be published only after the benchmark is complete, so we are not quoting any here.
