Cooking: what the camera looks for
Cook dinner, prep lunch, make breakfast. The check asks whether you are cooking.
What the camera looks for
When your cooking spot-check fires, the in-app prompt reads "Show us the pan". The vision model then judges whether your three-photo burst shows the activity. In general it looks for:
- A pan, pot, chopping board or other cooking setup in frame.
- Food in progress, and ideally you or your hands working on it.
- A scene that reads as a kitchen in use rather than a kitchen at rest.
Tips for a clean check
- Aim at the pan or board, as the in-app prompt says, and keep your hands in the shot.
- Steam, glare and bright hobs can wash out a frame. Angle slightly to one side.
- Wipe a smudged lens. Kitchens are greasy and phone cameras show it.
- Capture mid-action, such as stirring or chopping, instead of a still pan.
If a check fails
An empty counter or a closed oven is hard to tell apart from no cooking. If a check fails, the re-capture is your chance to show the food and the action. Streako always offers one re-capture before a check fails, and verification is tuned to give you the benefit of the doubt.
Honest status
This is a listed activity, and listed activities ship only if they pass our benchmark on real photo bursts, including bad light and awkward angles. Any activity with too many wrongly rejected checks is cut. Accuracy figures will be published only after the benchmark is complete, so we are not quoting any here.
